Lesson 1: Dakwah
What is dakwah - the act of inviting or calling people to embrace Islam ( to do god, and leave bad "amar makruf nahi mungkar")
Techniques of dakwah-by hand, mouth, heart.
((Someone practice evil, we must change using hand, mouth and/or heart. )) Why by heart is the weakest faith?-
The bad deeds(mungkar) is still being practices, compared to using hand(action/power) and mouth(advising), the person may stop practicing evil.
Responsibility of dakwah- fix ourselves and invite others to do good, too!
Lesson 2: Maqasid al Shariah
Naqibah conducted a session on the five Maqasid-al-Shariah, their definition, importance, ways of protecting them, and the importance of each Maqasid-al-Shariah. This lesson will be our group assignment so all of us were divided into groups consisting of five members to work on the assignment. Each group was given one Maqasid-al-Shariah and we have to make a poster and video on it. Protection of Property (Al-Maal) is our topic. We have a brainstorming session with our group mates at the end of the class.
Lesson 3: Ramadhan
In this week of usrah session, we were excited about the arrival of Ramadhan. We discuss on various types of Ibadah that we can do during Ramadhan. We played a game similar to bingo where all of us has to list the ibadahs and cross-check if anyone has written the same. Whoever has got BINGO first is the winner. It was so fun at the same time very interesting as we get to exchange our opinions and help each other to know what else we can do to get rewarded by Allah. SubhanAllah, even a simplest matter can be rewarded if we do it for the sake of Allah.
Lesson 4: Environment
In this Usrah session, naqibah shared a video where we saw how humans were being selfish and destroying nature. Some of the activities that I saw in the video was factory management being irresponsible and threw dangerous liquids and cause water pollution. Due to this, many living things underwater are dead. As Muslims, we must be aware that every act and deed is counted and recorded, and we will surely be questioned in the hereafter.
Lesson 5: The Awakening Convention
Naqibah shared a youtube link for all of us to attend the final session of "The Awakening Convention"- Revive your Soul. Sheikh Tariq Appleby discusses what it means to build a legacy for ourselves for Ramadan and Beyond.
"Ramadan does not come to change our schedules. It comes to change our hearts.
To leave a legacy in essence means not to leave this temporary Dunya without giving and leaving behind as much as we can. The blessed month of Ramadan came to change us, not just our schedules. It came to revive and renew our relationship with Allah, and it is our duty not to let it wither away because another Ramadan may not come for most of us."
Final Class
Usrah Budi 4 class ended with group presentations. It was so engaging as all groups presented their posters and videos on the topics given. Question answer session happens after each group presented and it was very productive and interesting. (Note: you may see our poster and watch the video under my collaboration post. :) )
I would like to thank my group members: Sr Maria, Sr Hikmah, Sr Haiza, and Sr Mahi for their contributions and made the assignment done smoothly without any problems or misunderstandings. Everything went smoothly and on time. Not to forget, I would humbly thank our Naqibah for conducting this class in an effective manner and shared a lot of bits of knowledge with us and inspire us to do more good in our life. May Allah SWT keep us all in his protection and bless all of us always.
